Located on East Bay Street, you are within walking distance from many famous attractions. Just minutes from the Historic Charleston Market, you can enjoy your treat while shopping. Keep walking and you come up to the famous waterfront park and the Pineapple Fountain.
With a clear view of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, the spot is definitely Instagram-worthy. The environment surrounding the cafe creates a comfortable and inviting atmosphere to the city of Charleston.
Carmella Solari’s home was a safe spot in the local community. The kitchen was always hot and the home was always filled. Families, neighbors, and children would run and grab whatever food they could! It was a home where everyone was welcome. The Solair family intended to recreate the atmosphere of Carmella’s home and did just that for Carmella’s Cafe Dessert Bar Charleston.
One of their main attractions is their display of cakes and cheesecakes. With multiple flavors to choose from such as red velvet, birthday cake, cannoli cake, and carrot cake, your taste buds never run out of options! You can also order gelato and sorbet. Their wide menu also serves lunch during the day with sandwiches and pizza. There’s something for everyone!
This place is no joke. Open from 11am-12am weekdays and 11am-1am weekends, the place is always crowded. Carmella’s is the 2021 Best of the Best winner in the Charleston Living Magazine. With some much to offer, you could spend all day here! The cafe and dessert bar has open doors to invite the public in.
There are long communal tables to enhance the conversation for strangers, as well as bar seating and separate tables. Outside there are multiple chairs and tables provided for comfortable seating. Right next door there is a perfect view of the United States Custom House and at night, it lights up just right!
