Spring has sprung and the ultimate gardeners event is almost here! The Charleston Horticultural Society is holding their annual event, Plantasia on April 7th and 8th at the beautiful Old Towne Creek County Park. Due to the unparalleled landscape and scenery in Charleston, the CHS seeks to inspire and showcase Lowcountry horticulture. A membership includes; free attendance to monthly lectures, seasonal educational workshops, garden tours and much more.
One of CHS’s most anticipated events is Plantasia. Vendors from all over come to sell their unique flowers, plants and gardening accessories. Local farmers will also be in attendance to sell their fresh produce. Every vendor and garden expert will be there to answer any questions you may have and offer some tips on sprucing up your spring garden.
First, there will be a Preview Party on Friday, April 7th from 5:30pm – 7:30pm, for those that want to get a head start. Enjoy cocktails, food, a live auction and a special contest. This year, window box designers from Downtown Charleston will be competing against one another to create the most unique design. These window boxes will then be auctioned off following the competition. Tickets for the Preview Party are $35/person and still available to purchase on the CHS website.
The festivities continue the next day, Saturday April 8th, when Plantasia is open to the public from 8:00am – 3:00pm. There is something for everyone at this event and we hope to see you there!
